The Valuer General sets policies and standards for the valuation system.
In order to effectively operate and manage the valuation system on behalf of the Valuer General, Property NSW issues operational procedures for the use of staff and contractors.
The Rating and Taxing Valuation Procedures Manual (PDF 5.4 MB) describes the requirements for the provision of rating and taxing valuation services on behalf of the Valuer General. The latest version of the Rating and Taxing Valuation Procedures Manual is to be read in conjunction with Assistant Director’s memoranda and Valuer General's policies.
Assistant Director’s memoranda and the Valuer General's policies may be issued at any time. The memoranda provide additional instruction in respect to the provisions of the manual following operational changes or to clarify an issue of law.
In the event of any conflict, the Valuer General's policies take precedence over Assistant Director's memoranda, which in turn take precedence over the Rating and Taxing Valuation Procedures Manual.
