VG NSW has won the Valuation Team of the Year Award at the Australian Property Institute’s 2020 Excellence in Property Awards, beating international valuation practice CBRE and national valuation practice m3property. The award recognises excellence in the application of valuation standards and a commitment to best practice across a valuation team.
The team, including Josh Etherington, Mark Rados, Lee Liao, Paul Chudleigh and David Parker, worked on the Review of the Impact of Bushfires on Land Values in the aftermath of the 2019-20 bushfires.
The team designed a novel and innovative way of providing a best practice solution to determining land values, where a catastrophic event has impacted sales evidence. Their review informed development of an evidence-based value matrix, providing a valuation tool for the assessment of fire-affected land in the absence of recent sales evidence.
